On the recommendation of National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd (NHIDCL), Dimapur police has informed that the affected NH- 29 road stretch along Chathe/Tsiedukhru (Pagala Pathar) which was closed earlier due to landslides on September 14 is now partially open for vehicular traffic under several conditions.
In an order, the commissioner of police Dimapur informed that vehicular traffic (LMV) along the affected NH stretch will be allowed in single lane with restricted traffic regulation with effect from September 15, while movement of Heavy Motor vehicle (HMV) (upto 6 wheels) along the said stretch will be allowed only from 8 AM on September 16.
In case of heavy rainfall, the noted NH stretch will be closed for vehicular movement without
notice, the official stated. Given the safety concerns, it has been advised that non-essential halt/stoppage along the affected stretch should be avoided especially during rainfall.
The bypass route from New Chümoukedima to Old Chümoukedima and vice versa will be open for traffic movement in staggered manner.
