Michazou FC and Ward-19 Kohima registered wins on the fifth day of the ongoing 25th edition of the NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy at Indira Gandhi Stadium Kohima on Thursday.
In the first match of the day, Michazou FC’s Vito Tepa scored a brace in the 46th and 88th minute to seal a 2-0 win for his team over Raisers FC.
With tactical finishes that ensured his team’s win, Tepa was named Player of the Match. MLA Dr. Tseilhoutuo Rhutso presented the award to Tepa following the match.
In the day’s second match and the 9th of the tournament, Ward-19 Kohima defeated Phezoucha Rhüba YO 4-1.

Phezoucha took an early lead with Razouvito Tsükrü scoring in the 34th minute. Ward-19 equalised in the 12 minutes later through the boot of Sagolsen Bikash Singh (46′). Singh found the net again in the second half (60’) taking his team to lead the scoreboard. Ward-19’s dominance was asserted by Laiwang Bohham who scored in the 69th minute and later sealed by Laba Jr in the 80th minute.
Ward-19 Kohima’s Jainchun Rongmei won the Player of the Match for displaying an outstanding performance on the field. The award was handed over by Naga Students’ Federation vice president Vimeyiekho Vitso.
