Miss Kohima 2025 kicks off with orientation & sashing ceremony

The journey towards the coveted crown of Miss Kohima 2025 commenced today with the Orientation & Sashing Ceremony held at the Nagaland Institute of Science and Technology, Lerie. The event brought together organizers, partners, and 16 contestants in a vibrant celebration that marked the beginning of a transformative chapter in their pursuit of excellence and grace.

Miss Kohima is not just a beauty pageant, it is a platform for empowerment, learning and advocacy. This year, contestants embark on a path that goes beyond appearances, stepping into roles of responsibility, confidence and service to the community.

In his keynote address, Show Director and Co-Founder Theja Sekhose emphasized the essence of this year’s theme, “Beauty. Health. Beyond.” He said, “True beauty shines brightest when it is rooted in good health. Real progress uplifts communities and creates a future where wellness and dignity walk hand in hand. The crown is not only a recognition but also a responsibility to serve.”

Partnership with Putuonuo Hospital

This year, Miss Kohima is privileged to collaborate with Putuonuo Hospital, an institution that has set high standards in medical excellence and patient-centered care. Through this partnership, contestants will participate in a full-day session on 4th October, gaining insights into health advocacy and learning how to use their voices to inspire, educate and lead.

Journey Roadmap

The Miss Kohima 2025 journey will unfold over the coming weeks:

September 20 – Official Photoshoot (profile photos, videos, Miss Multimedia content)

September 22 to 27– Sponsor Activity (creative social media promotions)

October 4 – Health Advocacy with Putuonuo Hospital

October 6 to 10 – Grooming Period (guided by Pewe Tunyi Khamo and mentors)

October 13 – Final Rehearsals at RCEMPA

October 14 – Main Show at 1:00 PM, RCEMPA — the grand finale, where elegance meets advocacy, and Miss Kohima 2025 will be crowned.

The ceremony was chaired by Kevilenuo Roselyn Miachio with invocation by Tolika K Kshepu, followed by a welcome note from Neitho Khamo. Special performances, self-introductions by contestants and the symbolic sashing ceremony led by Pelevinuo Rupreo set the tone for this year’s competition. A session on Personal Branding through Social Media was conducted by Pewe Tunyi Khamo.

Talent round

After the formal event it was followed by the Talent Round where the contestants competed for the subtitle Miss Talent, hosted by Thejakhrienuo Nakhro, member with panel of judges; Kevizenuo Dozo, Sentiein Kichu and Neitho Khamo. The talent round was a celebration of expression and creativity where contestants share their God given gifts and transformed them into inspiring performances. The result would be declared at the grand Miss Kohima on October 14 at RCEMPA.

Since 2023, front event managements, Miss Kohima organiser has provided  a platform to empower young women, giving them the opportunity to advocate for meaningful causes while showcasing grace, confidence and intelligence. The pageant continues to nurture women who lead with both purpose and beauty.
