The State Level Youth Festival, held under the theme “Viksit Bharat 2047 and the Role of the Creator Economy”, concluded on Friday at the Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima, with Advisor for Youth Resources & Sports, S Keoshu Yimkhiung gracing the valedictory programme as the chief guest.
Addressing the gathering, Yimkhiung lauded the energy, creativity, and unity displayed by the young participants, calling the festival “more than a celebration – a reaffirmation of the power of youth in shaping our society and future.” He said the theme, Viksit Bharat @2047, reflects India’s aspiration to become a developed nation by the centenary of independence, and stressed that this dream cannot be realized without the active contribution of youth.
Expressing confidence in the younger generation, the Advisor said Nagaland’s youth are well prepared to be part of the transformation towards a developed India. Highlighting the significance of the creator economy, he described it as a powerful global force that goes beyond entertainment and digital media to encompass art, culture, music, entrepreneurship, literature, sports, technology, and innovation.
“In a world connected through digital platforms, our young creators have the opportunity to tell our stories, showcase our rich Naga traditions, and innovate solutions that can inspire not just our state but the entire nation and beyond,” he said. Yimkhiung added that the creator economy offers livelihood opportunities, empowers individuals to become entrepreneurs and thrives on creativity, authenticity, and connectivity—values that resonate with the youth. If harnessed with proper guidance, he said, it can become a major driver of employment, cultural preservation, and national progress.
As the festival came to a close, Yimkhiung urged participants to carry forward the spirit of collaboration, new friendships and new journeys. “Let us commit ourselves to build a Nagaland and a Bharat that is progressive, inclusive and forward-looking,” he urged.

“To the youth, I say—believe in yourself, dream big, and never underestimate the power of your ideas and creativity to change the world,” he encouraged.
He also announced that the Department of Youth Resources & Sports is planning to host another major event, the Northeast Youth Festival, in the near future.
Megolhu Dolie, Additional Director,DYRS chaired the program.

The Thanksgiving Prayer was pronounced by Khrieneiu Metha, Pastor, PCRC.
Earlier the opening program began with invocation by Senior state sports coach Khriehutuo Tsira and welcome address by addition DYRS Megolhu Dolie.
The program was later followed by Sonic Showdown at RCEMPA, Jotsoma.
