The 4th edition of Nagaland World Music Festival is scheduled to be held from November 6 to 7 at Khuzama play ground.
Addressing the media at Japfü Hotel on September 27, Nunuse Sale, who is the Chief Event Manager of Kekhrie Krotho highlighted that for the last three editions the music festival was named “All Nagaland Folk Fusion Festival” held every year in the month of November, however, this year (2025) it is changed to “Nagaland World Music Festival” under the theme “Threads of Heritage”.
The Nagaland world music festival will have categories such as Folk Song (Group), Folk Fusion (Group/ Solo) and the prize pool for group song will be Rs. 35000 which is first prize for Group folk song , Rs. 15000 (Second prize) for Group folk song . Solo Folk fusion, First prize will be Rs. 20000, Rs. 10000 and Rs.5000 respectively. First prize for group folk fusion will be Rs. 35000 and second prize will be Rs. 15000.
Sale further informed that there would also be prizes for best male and female participants wearing the best traditional attire.
He mentioned that the competition is open for all 17 tribes of Nagaland. Furthermore day one would be the competition and day two would be presentation of cultural show.
Sale added that there are more than six departmental partners from the government supporting this event. Country partners will be from Thailand and France. Participants from different countries including Thailand France, Myanmar and Nepal will also be performing at the event.

Sale informed that a Michelin Chef from Thailand would be part of the two day event, additionally singer from The Voice of Thailand will also be participating in the event. The event will witness state singers, all the way from Meghalaya and Manipur.
Inaugural Guest for day one would be Abu Metha, Advisor to the Chief Minister of Nagaland.
Sale also highlighted that this year’s event would have farmers market, which is organised by Ketsa community from Khuzama and the community would promote foods and delicacies of Nagas.
Sale said that the motive of Kesa community is to give opportunity to the villagers and farmers to earn their livelihood and whatever they earn in these two day event, the money would go directly to the ones opening the stall.
In conclusion, Sale informed that there would be no registration fee for the participants and the entry would be open to all for the festival. There would be no ticket system. Transportation to and fro would be provided from Kohima Raj Bhavan to Khuzama and the participants would receive certificates of participation.
All participants are required to wear their respective traditional attire. Participation would be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration will close once the projected event schedule is filled.
Each performance/item would have a maximum of three minutes and the average projected slot is 15 groups/individuals per category. All participants would receive a Certificate of Participation.
Indigenous products and traditional delicacies will be available at Talent Development: Emerging potential performers will be given the opportunity to be groomed by TaFMA (Task Force for Music & Arts).
