The Phek Area Public Organization (PAPO) has vehemently condemned the alleged heinous crime committed by Hekugha Chophi of Tsutoho Village, a member of NSCN (IM) faction against an innocent lady who served as a prayer house keeper at Kizari village. The statement highlighted that the incident had happened on September 24,when the culprit forcefully tried to rape and torture her physically.

The PAPO said that it learnt from the victim that this was the third time he attempt to rape and murder her.

PAPO appealed to all right thinking citizen to condemn and assist in tracing out the culprit, and urged the concerned authorities to arrest him at the earliest and deliver justice to the maximum before the public.

This kind of act is never acceptable in a civilized society and must be treated with outmost seriousness and punish the culprit as per the law of the land in strongest term, it said.
