The Joint Coordination Committee on the IAS induction comprising of the CANSSEA, FONSESA, NIDA, NSSA & NF&ASA has informed that it will continue the pen down strike following the Cabinet Sub Committee’s inability to arrive to a logical conclusion.
In a circular issued on October 20, the JCC informed that a meeting with the Cabinet Sub Committee was held on October 20 at 11:00 A.M. in the office chamber of the Chief Secretary to place its demands before the Government on the issue of selection of Non-SCS officers into the IAS.

“The issue was deliberated and debated at lengths and consequent upon the inability of the Cabinet Sub Committee to accede to our demands it was decided that the Cabinet Sub Committee would place the matter before the State Cabinet for its decision,” stated the circular.
Viewing that the meeting with the Cabinet Sub Committee resulted in “no logical solution”, the JCC has conveyed to all departments/service associations that the ongoing pen down strike will continue till further instructions or till its demands are met by the Government.
All other modalities for pen-down strike issued earlier shall remain enforced, it notified.
