18th Imchaba Master Memorial Nagaland Open Volleyball Trophy 2025: Semi-finals on Oct 24

The quarterfinals of the 18th Imchaba Master Memorial Nagaland Open Volleyball Trophy 2025 were played on October 23 at the Multipurpose Sports Complex, Mokokchung, which saw four intense encounters that decided the semifinalists of the tournament. MH-10 Kohima, Evergreen Club Ungma, Spadroon Club Chungtia, and United Changki won their respective matches to book their spots in the semifinals scheduled for October 24.

Quarter Final: Match 1– MH-10 Kohima vs Yajang ‘C’

Entering the knockout stage through a pool withdrawal, Yajang ‘C’ faced the defending champions MH-10 Kohima in the opening quarterfinal. The reigning champions displayed clear dominance from the start, taking the first set 25–5 — the quickest of the tournament so far. Maintaining their control, MH-10 comfortably won the next two sets 25–15 and 25–11 to seal a straight-set victory. With this win, MH-10 Kohima advanced to the semifinals.

Quarter Final: Match 2–Evergreen Club Ungma vs Longsa Sporting Club Mokokchung

The second quarterfinal featured an all-Mokokchung contest between Evergreen Club Ungma and Longsa Sporting Club. Both sides began strongly, but Evergreen’s defense, led by Tongpang and Bendang, held firm against Longsa’s attacks. Coordinated play from Wonglom and Mesu guided Ungma’s offense, while Lima added variation in attack. Evergreen maintained consistent form throughout, winning the match in straight sets — 25/16, 25/16, 25/12 — to progress to the semifinals.

Quarter Final: Match 3–Fly High Tuensang vs Spadroon Club Chungtia

Spadroon Club Chungtia edged past Fly High Tuensang in a tightly contested five-set match. Fly High took the opening set 25–18 before Spadroon leveled the contest with a 25–15 win in the second. Tuensang regained the lead in the third set, winning 25–15, but Spadroon responded strongly to take the fourth set 25–17 and force a decider. In the final set, Spadroon maintained better composure and control to secure a 15–6 win, booking their place in the semifinals.

Quarter Final: Match 4–United Changki vs Chienino Brothers Kiruphema ‘B’

United Changki produced a composed performance to defeat Chienino Brothers Kiruphema ‘B’ in straight sets. They took the opening set 25/20 and followed up with a closely fought 25/21 in the second. With strong defense and organized play, United sealed the third set 25/16 to complete the victory. The win ensured United Changki’s qualification for the semifinals.

The semi-final matches of the 18th Imchaba Master Memorial Nagaland Open Volleyball Trophy 2024 are scheduled for October 24, beginning at 1:00 PM. The first semi-final will see MH-10 Kohima taking on Spadroon Club Chungtia, followed by the second clash between Evergreen Club Ungma and United Changki. The third-place match and the grand finale will be played thereafter.
