The Yimkhiung Baptist Boru Amukhungto (YBBA) gospel olympic 2025 under the theme “Together in spirit, Stronger in play” began on October 23 at CHS football ground, YBBA.
The event will be held for three days from October 23 to 24 organized by YBBA in collaboration with Department of Youth Resources and Sports.
In his welcome note, Chuba Yimchunger, Youth Secretary mentioned that it is a first of its kind event where seven churches are participating.
“The main aim of the initiative is to bring together all the Baptist churches based in Shamator town for fellowship and mutual understanding and especially to reach out to non- church -going youths and connect with fellow believers through sports ministry. I firmly believe that this initiative will bring a profound and positive impact on the lives of many young people,” said Yimchunger.

The inaugural guest Alula Thsanso, Retd Superintendent expressed appreciation to YBBA and DYRS for organizing such event in the district. “This is the historic day for everyone who are present and who will be participating in the three days of sports activities,” said the inaugural guest.

The speaker also provided a brief history on olympics which was initiated to educate the young through sports to strengthen humanity and to make a better world.
She highlighted three important points for the players: to move, to learn and to discover. Thsanso encouraged all the young boys and girls to move forward with the fast changing world. She also advised them to adopt positive lifestyles and habit and to develop interest in sports.
