Unleashing Brilliance: Mungri fest commences at ZPC College, Kiphire

The five days Mungri 2025 (College Week)theme, “Unleashing Brilliance” kicked off on Tuesday, October 28 at Zisaji Presidency College (ZPC) Kiphire.

The inaugural session was graced by Longdiba L. Sangtam, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kiphire as the special guest who officially declared the Mungri 2025 open. He addressed the students to value culture, seize opportunities, and forged their own paths through innovation and developing essential soft skills. He also lauded the efforts of the faculties of ZPC for bringing insights and visions to the students as the lone college of the district. Sangtam further encouraged the students to think out of the box which is expected from the young generation.

Dr. Pyobenthung, Principal ZPC gave the opening remark on the essence of Mungri, which is a word derived from the Sangtam dialect which means confluence and convergence. It represents the merging of various activities and learning experiences to create a unified educational journey for every student, mentioned a press release issued by the college.

The event also featured the presentation of the Governor’s Award for the academic session 2024-25 which was given to Khiavito from Economics department and Ridangla P. Sangtam from Political Science department. Helen Jamir award for the English department was awarded to Leishnaw Tikhir.

The inaugural session included a special number by the faculty, Voice of the Hill, duet and ethnic show followed by cultural activities.

The Mungri fest will continue with literary events on October 29 and sports events in the coming days. The programme was chaired Muwase and Thsapongla Sangtam. Dr. I.Temjentoshi Ozukum  led the invocation and vote of thanks was proposed by Longtise Sangtam.
