To commemorate the 150th birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Longleng District Administration in coordination with Mera Yuva Bharat (MYB) under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, organised District Level Padayatra (Unity March) on November 12 under the theme ” Sardar @150 Ek Bharat Aatmanirbhar Bharat”. The week-long programme includes essay writing competition, Painting, Debate and other related events.
SP Longleng, Yanger Jamir flagged off the Padayatra ‘Unity March’, commenced from DC’s office complex and concluded at public ground Longleng. Schools students within Longleng District and Yingli College participated in the march, carrying the aims to ignite among students and the community through meaningful participation.
Special guest, Sr. Principal, Bautung Higher Secondary School, Longleng, M Arulmaran extended his gratitude and appreciation to all the participants, and said celebrating and honouring the sacrifice and pivotal role played by Sardar Patel for the freedom of India. He said his life teaches us unity, determination, discipline and integrity which we must all follow and remember his legacy forever and take it over to our future generations.

A short programme was held at DCs office complex, chaired by District Sports Officer Longleng, Anguto Thokhwe. The event features cultural song and dance performed by the students of Bautung Government Higher Secondary school, Longleng and DYO, Mera Yuva Bharat Longleng, Hitesh Kumar, highlighting the objectives of the campaign.
The programme concluded with a closing remark from the DSO.
