A district-wide mass social work was carried out across Kohima District on Wednesday, organized by the Kohima District Administration with the participation of all government departments, institutions, wards, colonies, villages, and the general public.
The mass social work was supervised by Ruopfukuotuo Noudi, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Kohima, who was the overall in-charge of the exercise.
The initiative aimed to promote cleanliness and civic responsibility ahead of the festive season. Government offices, schools, and colleges actively joined the social work in their respective areas, while shopkeepers and business establishments cleaned the surroundings of their shops, repainted damaged signboards, and ensured proper lighting of signage.
Villages located along the highways undertook clearing of roadside vegetation and cleaning of highway dividers within their jurisdictions. Colony residents and households were also engaged in cleaning, collecting and disposing of waste in a proper manner.

Building materials stacked on roadsides were removed, and latrines or pigsties discharging waste onto the roads dismantled to maintain hygiene and public sanitation. Participants came equipped with brooms, sacks, and gloves for the cleaning activities.
The Kohima District Administration thanked the public for their collective effort and reaffirmed its commitment towards building a cleaner and healthier Kohima.
