Sardar@150 Unity March was organised by the District Administration Meluri in collaboration with NYKS/My Bharat Kendra, Phek on November 15.
Advisor N&RE & NSDMA, Z Nyusietho Nyuthe, speaking at the culmination programme, dwelt at length about the life of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, who was responsible for shaping the history of present day India. He referred Sardar Patel who was coined as the Iron Man of India, who brought together more 650 princely state of India into a unified India.
Earlier, the Unity March was flagged off by DC Meluri, K Mhathung Tsanglao at Helipad Meluri, with convergence of students from different Schools. The Unity March culminated at Hospital Junction Meluri. Cultural dance was performed by St. Xavier Higher Secondary School, Meluri.
Later, the programme culminated at Local ground, where the Deputy Commissioner, K. Mhathung Tsanglao, led the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA) pledge, against drugs. Christian Mission Higher Secondary School Meluri presented Cultural dance. As part of the District Level Padyatra programme, various competitions were held and the Advisor, Z. Nyusietho Nyuthe gave away the prizes to the winners of the competitions.
In the Poster Making, the 1st Prize was bagged by Sashiyanger Jamir, Class 11 from St.xavier Higher Secondary School Meluri; the 2nd prize by Etho Noah from S. Pethury School Meluri and Viprosie Nyuwi from Cristian Mission Higher Secondary School Meluri, and the 3rd prize by Kuveyi class 12 from Government Higher Secondary School Meluri and Tenonpa yutseh from St. Xavier Higher Secondary School Meluri.

In Essay Writing Competition, Thsointhsi Yinpithonger class 12 from St. Xavier Higher Secondary School Meluri secured first; Lotsia Ngouri class 12 from Christian Mission Higher Secondary School Meluri the 2nd and the 3rd prize by Anica A. Atomic, class 11 from St. Xavier Higher Secondary School Meluri. The program was chaired by Angelo Pfithu, PGT, GHSS Meluri.

As a part of the Nationwide celebration of the 150th birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel a Unity March was held at Phek town on November 15 under the theme Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat” (One India, Great India) and “Ek Bharat, Aatmanirbhar Bharat” (One India, Self-Reliant India).
It symbolises Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel unparalleled role in unifying India, as part of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat, it aligns with the mission of Viksit and Atmanirbhar Bharat of the Prime Minister of India .
The program was organised under Mera Yuva Bharat (My Bharat) under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, in coordination with the District Administration and Police, Phek, with support from different departments across the District.
The Rally was flagged off by Special Guest, Capt. Yashdeep Sharma, Adjutant, 39 Assam Rifles, Phek from Clock Tower and culminated at Town Hall Phek. Students from various colleges, scouts and guides, NSS and many others from different walks of life participated in the Flag March carrying the message of Unity and national Integration.
A short program was held at Town Hall, Phek, where the Special Guest, Yashdeep address the gathering and emphasis on Togetherness and to show the world that we are united. He also voiced the slogan of the Army “One for all and all for One”. Finally he concluded his short speech by expressing that the unity of our nation must go on and on as it is felt today. He also wished that this feeling of unity and belongingness must be taken to a greater heights and stays with us forever.
The order of the program was chaired by Imnasenla Walling, EAC, Phek and cultural item was presentation by students of Netaji Subash Chandra Bose Avasiya Vidyalaya Residential Girls’ Hostel, Phek followed by presentation of awards to the pre-event activities. The program culminated with a closing remarks by Imnasenla Walling, EAC, Phek.
