The monthly meeting of the District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) Dimapur was held on November 26 at the DC’s Conference Hall, Dimapur, under the chairmanship of Dr. Tinojongshi Chang, NCS, Deputy Commissioner & Vice Chairman, DPDB Dimapur.
Briefing under the agenda for registration of societies, the Board agreed to recommend all eight applicant societies for registration. The societies included Dimapur Sumi Baptist Church, The Family Tree, The Lovely Society, Shree Shree Laxmi Mandir (Naharbari), Street Vendors’ Association, M. P. & GS Road Business Welfare Society, Nagaland Safety Alliance for Everyone (N-SAFE), and the Business Consultancy Network.
For Grant-in-Aid, the Board resolved to forward the proposal for completion of the semi-built Ignite Nest by Can Youth Organization to the Government for further consideration.
Advisor for Tribal Affairs & Election, H Tovihoto Ayemi, while addressing the members, encouraged line departments to bring forward their agendas actively for discussion in the DP&DB meetings. He expressed satisfaction over the strong participation of members. Commenting on the PowerPoint presentations made by the DMC and Chief Veterinary Officer during the meeting, he appreciated the initiatives of the Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) and advised the Department of Veterinary & Animal Husbandry to strictly monitor checkpoints, remain vigilant against the entry of dead animals into the state, and stay alert.

Regarding African Swine Fever cases, DC urged that any such cases be promptly reported to the administration, noting that government compensation provisions are available. He also reminded departments to extend necessary support for the upcoming Hornbill Night Carnival scheduled from December 6 to 10.
PowerPoint presentations were delivered by Boka Rochill on behalf of the Dimapur Municipal Corporation (DMC) and by Dr Eyekhweshe Kepfoh, Chief Veterinary Officer for Department of Veterinary & Animal Husbandry.
The Board also welcomed its new member, Er H Akavi Ayeh, Drilling Engineer of Department of Geology and Mining.
The board members also observed the National Constitution Day by taking a pledge honouring the framers of the Constitution and reaffirming the nation’s commitment to justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity.
