The Lotha Academy has announced an open Essay (Non-Fiction) and Short Story (Fiction) Writing Competition for all Lotha writers. The event aims to promote creative expression, encourage literary talent, and preserve the rich intellectual and cultural heritage of the Lotha community.
Minimum word limit for Essay is 1500 words while that of the Short Story is 1000 words. Manuscripts must be submitted in MS Word or PDF format to the Lotha Academy on or before March 1, 2026.
The Academy said all articles and stories must be original, unpublished, and written solely by the participant.
Emphasizing on integrity and creative authenticity, the Academy said submissions must be free from plagiarism. Writers have been encouraged to express their own thoughts, experiences, and imagination, contributing genuinely to the growth of Lotha literature.

Attractive cash prizes and citations, sponsored by the Lotha Officers’ Association (Wokha Unit), would be awarded to the First, Second, and Third position holders in both categories.
Additionally, consolation prizes would be presented to deserving participants. The Academy encouraged all interested Lotha writers, both established and emerging, to take part in this literary endeavour.
All selected manuscripts would later be edited and compiled into a book to be published by the Lotha Academy. For more information, participants may contact the Lotha Academy office.
