Nagaland Chief Minister, Dr Neiphiu Rio launched the Nagaland Scholarship Nodal Cell (NSNC) on December 1. It has established the Nagaland Scholarship Nodal Cell (NSNC) at the Directorate of Higher Education, Kohima, as the centralized authority for all scholarship schemes in the state. This initiative stems from the Cabinet decision of June 12, 2019 and was reaffirmed during the consultative meeting held with the Chief Secretary. Nagaland on September 10, 2025.

The Nagaland Scholarship Nodal Cell has been envisioned as the single, centralized authority for coordination, implementation, monitoring and redressal of all scholarship programmes, including State, Central Sector, and Centrally Sponsored Schemes.

The Scholarship Nodal Cell is composed of nominated officials from all the Scholarship Implementing Departments including a designated Nodal Officer from the Scholarship Section of the Directorate of Higher Education who serves as the in-charge under the Director, Higher Education.

Positioned as the single point of contact for all scholarship matters, the cell is expected to transform the scholarship ecosystem in Nagaland by making it more accessible and student centric.
