The Koinonia Prayer Centre, Tsiesema Basa held its 10th foundation day on December 5 under the theme “My house shall be called a house of prayer (Matthew 21: 13)” hosted by Chumdeno and family with Koinonia Baptist Church founder pastor and Kohima Bible College principal Rev. Dr. Zotuo Kiewhuo as the speaker.

Rev. Kiewhuo in his message stated that within 10 years of its existence as a full-fledged ministry under the Koinonia Baptist Church, the prayer centre has become one of the fastest growing prayer centers with over thousands of people coming for fasting and prayer, not only from India but from the rest of the world. He also said there is baptism every month which is a testament that the word of God is active and working.

Emphasizing on the theme, Kiewhuo said that the church of God is supposed to be praying for global mission on priority, that every soul should come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. “Every church member should be zealous for the kingdom of God,” he said.

Citing the book of Acts, he said that to welcome the revival of the Holy Spirit, the apostles were made to pray and pray until the coming of the Pentecost Day. Stating that persistent prayer is the need of the hour for revival and the church is to be called to be a ‘house of prayer’, he further made a reference to 2 Timothy 4:2-4 that in the end of days people will only want to hear pleasing sermons to suit their own desire and not of sound doctrine which are to correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction.

He therefore exhorted the congregation to pray earnestly because the burden of God is heavier. He also encouraged that in giving and in prayer, the people can invest in the ministry. “Prayer can stop the wrath of God, it can turn around the situations and praying should be a lifestyle,” he added.

Vimialuo, a 92-years-old also delivered his testimony during the program as the sole survivor of the remarkable journey barefoot in 1978 to a crusade with his elders, namely, Lt. Rusovi, Lt. Meguolhou, Lt. Theyesayi and Lt. Musuohu. He said as they gave thanksgiving for the food to eat, a prophesy came to Lt Meguolhou that the very place they were seated (presently around the gate of Koinonia Prayer Centre) is a consecrated area where many will witness the miracles and blessings of God. He said the things that were prophesied had now come to pass as the prayer center is growing and many people have come to witness the living God through the Word and his miracles in the place.

The program was chaired by Koinonia Baptist Church pastor H Rokopra Mekro while message through songs were presented by the Kohima Bible College Female Choir, Deborah Group and Koinonia Prayer Centre family.

During the program, Rev. Kiewhuo administered baptism to four individuals.
