The 6th Winter Night Carnival organised by Adventure and Motorsports Association Mokokchung (AMAM) was formally inaugurated on December 15 evening at the Town Square Police Point, Mokokchung, opening the winter festivities for the citizens of the town. The inaugural programme was graced by SDO (Civil) Mokokchung, Temsuchuba Jamir, as the Inaugural Patron.

The organisers, AMAM, informed that a total of 109 stalls have been confirmed and marked for the Winter Night Carnival. The final number of operational stalls, however, will depend on individual stall owners setting up their respective units. The stalls have been categorised into merchandise stalls, food stalls, music corners, and game stalls, with merchandise stalls, food, music, and game stalls are spread across designated sections of the carnival venue.

In his address, Temsuchuba Jamir appreciated the organisers, AMAM, for taking the initiative to organise the Winter Night Carnival for the citizens of Mokokchung. He stated that the carnival provides an important platform for people to showcase their skills and talents, especially offering opportunities for local entrepreneurs to set up stalls and engage with the public.

Referring to the cold December evening, he remarked that despite the chill, the festive season brings warmth to people’s hearts, allowing families and friends to spend quality time together. With schools and colleges having concluded their sessions, he noted that the carnival comes at an appropriate time for people to relax and enjoy.

He made an earnest appeal to the public, as responsible citizens of Mokokchung, to refrain from creating any unnecessary disturbances and to maintain discipline, peace, and harmony throughout the event. He also urged the public to keep the streets clean.
