The School of Agricultural Sciences, Nagaland University (SAS, NU), Medziphema Campus organised a training-cum-inputs distribution programme at IPM Model village Rusoma, Kohima District, Nagaland on December 19 under the Project “Establishment of crop-based model, IPM Villages for promotion of integrated pest management technologies in NEH region of India”. The project is funded by ICAR- NRIIPM, New Delhi.
The training on integrated pest management on Orange was imparted by Dr Waluniba, Assistant Professor, Department of Entomology, SAS, NU, with farmers being provided training on the different insect pests associated with Orange, and on identifying and managing them through the IPM approach.
Dr Kevineituo Bier, Assistant Professor, Department of Soil Science, SAS, NU dwelt on the importance of soil management aspects through integrated nutrient management (INM) to increase the soil productivity and improve the soil health and quality.

Inputs like Knapsack sprayer, yellow stick traps, Neem oil, Trichoderma, biofertilizers, Beauveria bassina, Phosphate solubilizing bacteria, bucket, lime and Copper sulphate (Bordeaux mixture preparation) were distributed to the farmers in the adopted village.
