Smart classrooms inaugurated GPS Shitilong

A new era of digital learning was ushered in at Government Primary School (GPS), Shitilong, Mokokchung on January 21, with the inauguration of a smart classroom. The project, a collaborative effort between the District Administration Mokokchung and the State Bank of India (SBI) under its “Empowering Education” Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, aims to enhance the quality of education available to students.

Temsuchuba Jamir, SDO(C), Mokokchung, who was the chief guest at the inauguration ceremony, officially unveiled the new facility. In his address, he extended his heartfelt gratitude to SBI for their significant social service and their role in uplifting the community through such initiatives. Expressing optimism for future endeavours, he highlighted the potential for increased collaboration between the district administration and the bank in the education sector and beyond.

He also tasked the school’s teaching staff with the crucial responsibility of fully utilizing the smart classroom’s capabilities to deliver quality education and foster student’s growth.

Imodangba, the Chairman of the School Management Committee (SMC), delivered a speech expressing his gratitude to the District Administration, specifically mentioning Deputy Commissioner, Ajit Kumar Verma, IAS, and the SBI for their invaluable support.

Imtitoshi Imsong, Branch Manager of SBI, Alongmen branch, spoke about the bank’s broader CSR initiatives which span various sectors including Education, Health, and Sanitation. He echoed Jamir’s sentiments, encouraging the students and teachers to maximize the benefits of the new smart classroom.

The programme, chaired by Lipokkumla, PT, included an invocation by Lin’u’kyanger, Pastor, MBC, and a benediction by Temsujungla Pongen, APCE, MBA.

The event saw the attendance of several notable officials, including Ajay Moktan, IAS, Assistant Commissioner; Chubasanen (EAC HQ); the DEO Mokokchung; as well as students, parents, and village elders.
