The National People’s Party (NPP) Nagaland has condemned the recent assault and public humiliation of a Christian Pastor in Odisha, stating that it has caused deep anguish and concern among citizens, particularly the Christian community across the country.

The NPP Nagaland reiterated that such incidents of violence and intimidation against religious leaders are unacceptable in a democratic and secular nation like India.

The party asserted that targeting a Pastor or any religious leader on the basis of faith is a direct attack on the Constitution of India, undermining the values of harmony, tolerance, and mutual respect that bind the nation together.

NPP Nagaland further appealed to the Government of Odisha to ensure a fair, transparent, and time-bound investigation and to take strict legal action against all those responsible.

The party also urged the Central Government and concerned national authorities to closely monitor the matter and ensure the protection of freedom of religion, dignity, and personal liberty as guaranteed under the Constitution.

The party called upon all sections of society to maintain peace and restraint and not allow divisive forces to disturb communal harmony.

NPP Nagaland expressed solidarity with the Pastor and his family and hoped that justice would prevail through due process of law.
