The Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Wokha, has issued a notification directing all coaching centres operating within the district to mandatorily register in compliance with the “Guidelines for Registration and Regulation of Coaching Centres in the State of Nagaland 2025.” The order follows Notification No. ITE/CC/1-4/2020/1917 dated November 26, 2025, and the subsequent constitution of the District Level Committee for Regulation of Coaching Centres, Wokha.
The directive states that all existing coaching centres must apply for registration before February 25, 2026, to ensure minimum standard requirements and safeguard the interests of students.
According to the guidelines, any establishment providing tuition, instructions, or guidance to more than 20 students for study programmes, competitive examinations, or academic support must register. Each branch of a coaching centre will be treated as a separate entity. Centres dedicated solely to counselling, sports, dance, theatre, and other creative activities are exempted.

Documents required for registration include:
a) Filled verification format for coaching centres
b) Verification report of the Area Administrative Officer
c) Treasury challan of ₹5000 for registration and ₹2000 for renewal
d) Undertaking by the proprietor
e) Display photo showing tutor qualifications, timetable, fee structure, emergency helpline details, and referral services
f) Character certificates of tutors issued by the Police Station
g) Prospectus mentioning courses offered
h) Fire safety and building safety certificates
i) Copy of the committee for redressal of student grievances
The order also specifies that no student below 16 years of age shall be enrolled unless they have completed their secondary school examination.
Applications are to be submitted to the Development Branch of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Wokha. A copy of the guidelines has been enclosed with the order for strict adherence.
The District Administration has urged all coaching centres to comply within the stipulated time frame to ensure proper regulation and protection of student interests.
