PM Vishwakarma awareness workshop held at Kiphire

The Ministry of MSME, Government of India, MSME Development and Facilitation Office, Dimapur, in association with the Department of Industries & Commerce and District Industries Centre (DIC), Kiphire organized a 1-day market awareness workshop on February 9, under PM Vishwakarma at the Hopongkyu Memorial hall, Kiphire.

General Manager of DIC Dimapur, Intsangju Y Sangtam gave the commencement address by welcoming the artisans to engage in the series of technical sessions and actively participate in market linkages under the DIC.

Functional Manager, DIC Dimapur, Nongshe informed the artisans of the various schemes under the Ministry of MSME and the state government. He urged the artisans to avail themselves of information and seek assistance through the DIC for support. An interactive session on Branding, product design and marketing was conducted by State Programme Management Unit, PM Vishwakarma.

This was followed by an interactive session with the artisans, the District Industries Centre and the State Programme Management Unit, PM Vishwakarma. The session addressed the doubts artisans had about training, toolkit, and credit under the scheme.

The PM Vishwakarma Scheme is a Central Sector Scheme aimed at recognizing and empowering traditional artisans and craftspeople across the country, collectively referred to as Vishwakarmas. The scheme seeks to support those engaged in 18 traditional trades such as Carpentry, Basket weaving and Blacksmith which are deeply rooted in India’s cultural and occupational heritage.
