Jwenga Seb, Member of Legislative Assembly representing Tseminyu, on Thursday inaugurated the first ever Wokha Winter Fiesta – Music, Eco-Tourism & Adventure 2023 (WWF-META 2023), at Lanchuju Eryu, Doyang, Wokha. The event being organised from 7th to 13th December 2023 by Team Metamorphosis in collaboration with Nagaland’s Tourism Department under the theme “Explore, Discover and Grow”.
The MLA, in his address, viewed that promoting eco-tourism in Doyang was assuring considering the area’s rich biodiversity and untapped potential. Seb also urged the people to preserve the blessed natural resources and environment of the area and to promote eco-tourism.

Earlier, Thungdemo Kyong, Chief, Team Metamorphosis, highlighted that the aim of the Wokha Winter Fiesta is to promote eco-tourism in the region while also preserving the rich traditions and culture of the ancestors. He said that the WWF-META is also a step towards promoting sustainable socio-economic development, better livelihood and a better future for the people of the district while also fostering a deeper connection with the scenic beauty of Doyang and the rich vibrant culture of the Lotha Naga.

Various indigenous games and activities including kayaking, ziplining, camping, DJ night were the highlights of the first day of Wokha Winter Fiesta. The event is also providing platform to young entrepreneurs to showcase their handcraft works.
