At the heart of the bustling Organic Pavilion in Kisama village during Hornbill Festival, lies the inviting stall of The Green Caravan. Here, Kekhriemengu Yiese from Kohima village shares the story of their journey—a unique fusion of traditional agriculture and modern vision.

He is part of a dedicated four-member team that blends deep agricultural expertise with his own background in computer science, together serving as an official service provider for the Department of Agriculture and Horticulture.

Their work grows from the impactful MOVCDNER scheme (Mission for Organic Value Chain Development – North East Region). Through it, they walk alongside farmers across multiple districts, helping them form Farmer Producer Companies (FPCs). Their support extends from establishment and specialized training to creating vital market linkages.

Today, The Green Caravan nurtures 17 such FPCs, each a specialist in its own organic crop—from the fiery King Chilli of the Tening Organic Producer Company to the sweet Persimmons of the Western Angami Organic Producer Company.

Marking their fifth anniversary at the Hornbill Festival, their stall has become a cherished destination. With daily sales averaging around ₹8,000, a testament to the growing love for authentic, organic produce.

Every product tells a story of place and purity, sourced directly from their partner FPCs in districts like Longleng, Mokokchung, Mon, and Peren. Each item is certified organic, a core promise of their mission.

Their showcase is a celebration of Nagaland’s bounty:
