About the Alumni Association

The Alumni Association of SAS, Nagaland University (formerly College of Agriculture, NEHU) was formally established on June 15, 2000 during a meeting of former students at the RD Seminar Hall, SASRD. Guided by the motto “Quest for knowledge in the service of people,” the Association seeks to foster unity among alumni, safeguard their rights and privileges, and create a dynamic forum for discussion and idea exchange to promote growth and development in agriculture and allied sectors.

In 2003, an emblem design competition was held, and the winning emblem by Temjentoshi, then a BSc (Agri) 2nd-year student, was adopted. The emblem symbolizes the Association’s commitment to excellence, agricultural prosperity, peace, and unity. The Association’s green flag bearing the emblem was officially unfurled on October 19, 2003 during the Alumni Meet, coinciding with SAS’s Silver Jubilee celebrations. To mark the occasion, a monolith was donated and erected by the Association.

Earlier, on September 5, 2001, the first general conference was held to honour teachers for their invaluable contributions to shaping students’ lives. Over the years, various activities and initiatives have been made possible through voluntary contributions from alumni, registration fees, and special funds.

A call to all alumni

On the occasion of the Silver Jubilee, the Association has extended invitation to all SAS alumni across the globe to participate, support, and contribute towards achieving its vision and objectives.
