About Us will take the stage on Day-2 of the 23rd Hornbill Festival at the Toyota Hornbill Music Festival (HMF) 2022 at Kisama. This will be the band’s first appearance at the Hornbill Festival after rebranding under the name About Us.
The band told Nagaland Tribune that they had performed at the HMF on multiple occasions prior to About Us. “The experience was amazing and we look forward to having great time again,” the band added.
The six members “experimental melodic rock musical band” from Wokha comprises of Sochan Kikon, Renlamo, Soren, Ponn, Lich Kithan and Renbomo.
The men said that after singing covers for over a decade, the “zeal to create our own originals and share it with the world motivated and inspired” them to form About Us and this giant leap of faith rewarded them by making the band one of the most successful bands from Nagaland.
The group has been signed by Frontiers Music Srl “who loved the band’s non-traditional approach to melodic rock and quickly moved to make the band an offer to join their roster.” The self-titled debut album About Us was released by Frontiers Music Srl in November 2022.
The Napoli, Italy, based records company is an independent record label that has released albums of internationally known bands such as Def Leppard, Toto, Whitesnake, Michael Bolton, Extreme, Styx and many more.
“Frontiers Records’ foreword has always been to dream together with the thousands of people that love quality Rock music”, the records company says.
About Us’ song ‘Gimme Gimme’, released on April 2021 received roaring reviews internationally. The band said it was a “defining experience, which inspired and motivated us to relook and rethink our future goal as musicians” and thanked all their listeners for the “massive support”.

About Us went on to win Best Rock category award at the MG Nagaland Music Awards in June 2021 and also at the Music Awards of Nagaland in October 2021 in the similar category.
After performing at the Toyota Hornbill Music Festival, the band will be heading to Jowai, Meghalaya where they will “Rock on Top” with music lovers on 10 December.
About Us told Nagaland Tribune that they will be hitting the studio from January 2023 to work on their second album.
