The Superintendent of Police, Tuensang today informed that the accused in the Tuensang children molestation case was arrested on September 19.
The accused, 57 years old VJ Jose, a Headmaster at Holy Angel School, Tuensang was reported to have molested four minor female students of the school.
The SP Tuensang in a press release informed that the Tuensang Police Station received information on September 19, from parents of some of the female students studying at Holy Angel School, Tuensang, stating that their children were molested by their school Headmaster. Immediately, a case was registered vide Tuensang Police Station under the Section 354 A (1) (i) IPC R/W 8 POCSO Act for further investigation.
During the course of investigation, the statements of the complainants and the victims were recorded and the accused, identified as Jose V.J, Age-57 years, (S/O Lt. John, V/O- Karimba, District-Palakkod, P.O/PS-Kalladikodue) and presently residing at Nyaklangbou colony, St. John ‘A’ ward, Tuensang, was arrested on the same day.

After completion of interrogation, the accused was forwarded to judicial custody on September 20 to enable completion of investigation. The press statement further disclosed that the prayer for recording of victim’s statement under Section 164 CrPC has also been made within the stipulated time to the Court.
“The SDPO Tuensang along with OC Women PS Tuensang have visited the school and conducted a thorough enquiry in case to ascertain if any other such incidents have happened in the said school where the same accused may have been involved but no other incident has been reported to police,” informed the SP Tuensang.
