While Kitenlo K Thono, Kevin, Gwahilo Kent and Kumugha were part of the record-breaking high kick, the whole team of Faith In Action at India’s Got Talent also included Kevin, Tiayanger, Imnatoshi Longkumer, Jon, Altab, Liike Kibami, Hinokali, Hatneinem Khongsai, Diana and Deep Kumar.

Speaking to Nagaland Tribune, Deep Kumar, Founder and Coach of Faith In Action Academy said, “The achievement of the academy is an achievement of the state and the country. It is not a personal thing.” He attributed the achievement to God and express gratitude to all well-wishers and supporters.

“It is not us, it is the grace of God. If you trust in God, anything is possible. Have faith and rely all faith on God and the rest God will take care,” Kumar added.

The coach also exuded hope to bring more laurels and honour in the future and regretted, “We did not have much time so, we could only participate in one category.”

Speaking about the growth and importance of Martial Arts in the state, Kumar lamented that parents were one of the main hindrances of the growth because they fear that Martial Arts may encourage aggression and violence in the child. Martial Arts instead teaches a child to be more disciplined, respectful and social, he mentioned.

He also pointed the open truth of not giving importance to arts like martial arts, singing and dancing etc. as a career and said, “I am coaching for living and likewise there are also many people who are sustaining through Martial Arts and others”.

Kumar further encouraged parents to support the interest of their children instead of forcing them.

Faith In Action Taekwondo Academy, founded in 2008, has been imparting the skills to both male and female. The academy also gives free self-defence seminar to women institutes like Pranabananda women’s college, St John Hr. secondary and SD Jain Girl’s College and many others in Dimapur with an aim to boost their confidence, to help them overcome the fear and grow out of their limitations.

If any institution approaches, we are ready to impart the martial arts skills in any places, the founder added.
