Action packed day-3 at ANCSU Collegiate Meet 2022

Day 3 of the All Nagaland College Students Union (ANCSU) Collegiate Meet 2022 was action packed with competitions of various sports and ending with the ‘Battle of the Bands’ Beat Contest late into the night.

Sakus Mission College Dimapur is hosting the Collegiate meet where over 1,000 students have come from colleges across Nagaland to compete and socialize.

On Wednesday, the eventful day began with men’s football (men) at Dimapur Government College Ground. Volleyball (women), chess and badminton (mix doubles) also took place simultaneously.

The semi-final matches of football (men) will be played today where Patkai Christian College, Chümoukedima District, will take on Kheloshe Polytechnic, Atoizu, Zunheboto, while Mt Mary’s College Dimapur will play against Immanu3el College, Dimapur.

In Chess, National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT) emerged the winner after defeating Mt Mary’s College.

Badminton final was played between Kohima Science College and Dimapur Government College where Kohima Science College overpowered the opponents to become champions in the event.

The last event of the third day of the meet was ‘The Battle of the Bands’ in the Beat Contest in which 14 colleges had competed. Seven colleges were selected in the screening round.

Fazl Ali College, Mokokchung, was adjudged the winner of the Beat Contest walking away with a cash prize of Rs 10,000 and certificates, while Patkai Christian College was declared runner up.

Limasunep Jamir IGP (Range) was the special invite of the evening.

Various renowned artists from Nagaland such as Z T Slingshot and DGP Band made special appearances at the Beat Contest.

The biennial ANCSU Collegiate Meet which is being held under the theme ‘Metamorphosis’ will culminate on 21 October.
