ACVA Wokha 10th Foundation Day reaffirms ‘One Government One tax’

The All Commercial Vehicle Association (ACVA) Wokha District commemorated its 10th Foundation Day on May 17 at the Conference Hall, Lotha Hoho Ki, Wokha. During its general discussion, the gathering deliberated on several issues and reaffirmed its commitment and support to ACAUT’s ‘One Government One tax’.

C.Renbi Ngullie, President, ACVA Wokha District in his greetings expressed gratitude on behalf of ACVA to all the units for attending the programme. He reminded that through the initiative of ACAUT in 2014 against unabated taxation, ACVA Wokha Unit initiated the ‘One Government One tax’ movement with the rest of the people in Wokha. “Wokha became the only tax free District in Nagaland,” stated Ngullie. The President, however, rued that many vehicle owners seeking the help of ACVA officials are not aware of the Foundation day of the Association. In this regard, he encouraged the members to actively participate with the association as it was for the welfare and benefit of the members.

Reminding the gathering on the formation of ACVA, Ngullie stated that the pioneering members underwent challenges and series of meeting. He further reiterated that ACVA since its inception had adhered to the idea of One Government One Tax. Therefore, he urged the members to stick to that tradition of standing by the ideals of the Association.

Speeches were delivered by the federating units of the ACVA such as th Wokha District Local Truck Union, Wokha District Mini Truck Union, Wokha District Bus Union, Wokha Distict Pick Up Union

Wokha District Auto Union. The programme was chaired by Senchumo Ngullie, General Secretary WDAU and an invocation offered by Chumthungo Kithan, Treasurer, WDPU.

The second session of the celebration witnessed a general discussion and adoption of resolutions.

The resolution adopted are as follows:

  1. The house resolved not to attend any meeting of any Naga Political Groups (NPGs) factions if the purpose of the meeting is not stated clearly in the letter.
  2. It also resolved not to entertain any form of yearly Commercial vehicles tax to any Naga Political Groups (NPGs) /Factions until and unless NPGs / Factions come under one Common platform.
  3. In case of intimidation / harassment meted to any of its office bearers, members of vehicles of All Commercial Vehicles under Wokha district relating to taxation from any NPGs/factions or individual/ person (s), the concern person would be solely held responsible for the action.
  4. The general discussion, after thorough deliberation, resolved to stand on ‘One Government One Tax’ and to extend unflinching support and cooperation to ACAUT resolution on ‘One Government One Tax’.
  5. If any Wokha Bound commercial vehicle drivers or owners found paying tax to any of the NPGs / factions, the concerned driver / owner should be held responsible for all the commercial vehicles in Wokha.
  6. The Association warned all Commercial vehicles driver / owner(s) not to indulge in possession of alcohol, drugs and involve in rash driving as such reports been received including accidents in some cases. Violating the order will be at their own risk and the Association will not held responsible.
  7. The association directed all the Commercial vehicles sub-union to negotiate any kind of issue/matter at their own union level. Except on matter related to taxation and if the matter/ issue is not able to negotiate, then the same matter will be reported.
  8. The house resolved that on matter relating to yearly commercial vehicles tax or forceful collection of money, the action committee will be compelled to take action or exercise the power directly to any NPGs/ Factions or the person (s) Concerned.
  9. Surprise checking will be conducted to any a Commercial Vehicles when the situation demand/ arise and stern action will be taken to the defaulters.
  10. The house resolved that there will be no other sub union, Range, Circle or unit under the banner of All Commercial Vehicles Association (ACVA) wokha District HQ Wokha until and unless the Resolution is amended.
  11. A car rally was held at the Local Ground till Essar Fuel Station and  a Tug of war was conducted unit wise at the Local Ground Wokha.
