An Aspirational Toilet constructed under the Swachh Bharat Mission 2.0 (SBM U 2.0) was inaugurated on September 29 at Dilong ward, Mokokchung town by Atsungba Walling, Additional Deputy Commissioner and Chief Executive Officer of the Mokokchung Municipal Council (MMC).
The programme was attended by the Chairman of MMC Imkongchuba, Councillors, officials, and representatives of the Kichu clan from Mokokchung village. A dedicatory prayer for the facility was offered by Pastor Monglir of Mokokchung Town Baptist Church (MTBA).
Speaking at the event, Walling noted that the project is aimed at strengthening urban sanitation and public health, in line with the objectives of SBM U 2.0, which emphasizes sustainable and accessible facilities for citizens. He also acknowledged the Kichu clan for donating the land on which the toilet has been built.

With the facility now opened for public use, MMC has appealed to citizens to use it responsibly and to cooperate in its upkeep. The MMC stated that the initiative reflects its commitment to improve sanitation infrastructure and to work towards a cleaner and healthier Mokokchung town.
