Additional Deputy Commissioner Longleng, Alongdhimen Jamir has notified on Regulation of Commercial Vehicle parking and enforcement of designated parking zone at Longleng Town with immediate effect.

In a circular he informed that the stretch from Tuensang Junction towards Aboi road is declared a “No Parking Zone” for all commercial vehicles, with immediate effect. This regulation has been necessitated due to recurring congestion and public inconvenience caused by indiscriminate parking in the said area.

Further, all Tata Sumo/Taxis and other passenger vehicles operating from neighboring villages are strictly directed not to park at random or unauthorized spots within and around Longleng Town. Such practices have been observed to create traffic bottlenecks and safety hazards.

All commercial vehicles including pickups, 407/409 trucks and Tata Sumo have been directed to use the designated parking areas as identified below: New medical site, Longleng – Changtongya road and at Naga Junction, Tuensang road.

Failure to comply with the directive shall attract penalty action under section 177 of the Motor Vehicle Act, 1988, he cautioned.
