ADC Tuensang stresses on keeping surroundings clean to stop spread of Malaria

Tuensang: Malaria affects over 200 crore people every year

World Malaria Day was observed at Tuensang with the theme “Accelerating the Fight Against Malaria for a more Equitable World”, with ADC Tuensang, Thungchanbemo Tungoe as the Special Guest at CMO Conference Hall, Tuensang, DIPR informed.

Speaking on the programme, the ADC informed that Tuensang district has nil case of malaria up to date but said it should not be taken lightly. He called upon the gathering that more than 200 crores of people are affected by Malaria each year and we have much to do from our side like spreading awareness about Malaria, clean our surroundings especially water stagnant area, using mosquito repellent and mosquito nets.

CMO Tuensang, Dr. Neisakho Kere, proposed the welcome address while Yimliyangla Ong DVBC, Tuensang spoke on the activities of National Center for Vector Borne Diseases Control programme (NVBDCP). The programme was chaired by Dr. Waulong Phom, DVBO Tuensang.
