Advisor Mhathung Yanthan convenes meeting at Sanis to bridge gap between departments and general public

Wokha: Advisor raises concern of presence and settlement of elephants in and around Baghty valley

Advisor for Agriculture, Mhathung Yanthan convened a co-ordination meeting with Heads of Offices, Village Council Chairmen and public leaders under Sanis Sub-Division at ADC Office, Sanis, Wokha on Wednesday, DIPR informed.

Yanthan, while interacting with the officers and public leaders of Sanis, said the main purpose of conducting the meeting was to bridge the gap between the departments and the general public of the area on various government policies and programs meant for the benefit the people and also to know first-hand information on the challenges and difficulties faced by the government servants. He said that as an elected member, it is his bounded duty to know the requirement of the people and serve them in his best capacity.

The Advisor urged the departments to render their best service for the upliftment and welfare of the people by way of effectively implementing the government projects and programs, despite the many challenges and difficulties. He also called upon the public to extend support and co-operation to all the government establishments and departments and avail the various schemes and projects provided by the government.

Raising serious concern in regard to the presence and settlement of elephants in and around Baghty valley, he said that the elephants were posing a great threat for the farmers and their fields, effecting the livelihood of the people of the area and urged the concerned authority to take up preventive measures. Yanthan stated that Baghty valley has a huge potential in terms of mass production in agri and allied sectors which will boost the economic standard of the area as well as the district.

Department of School Education, Health & Family Welfare, PWD (R&B), Power, PHED, Agriculture, DRDA and Horticulture, Food & Civil Supplies, Police, Veterinary & Animal Husbandry and Forest highlighted on the activities and programmes undertaken in the district.

After the meeting, the Advisor also visited the following establishments: GHS Sanis, Police Station, Community Health Centre, Multi Cooperative Building, St. Paul School and Goatery farm. The program was chaired by ADC Sanis, Zuring Madelliang.
