H Sethrongkyu Sangtam, Advisor for Information Technology and Communications, Economics and Statistics, and Evaluation, was the Guest of Honour on the concluding day of the 5th General Conference of the Eastern Nagaland Women Organization (ENWO) held in Longkhim, Tuensang under the theme “Women Beyond Barriers”, DIPR stated.
Addressing the attendees at the conference on Friday, Sethrongkyu commended ENWO for their significant contributions to the ENPO movement. He emphasized the pivotal role women play in the progress of society, asserting that the advancement of mankind is intricately linked to women’s contributions. The Advisor further called upon the ENWO units to persistently dedicate their efforts towards the enhancement of Naga communities and urged them to foster peaceful coexistence and comprehensive development across the region.
The conference was orchestrated by Asang Yimkhiung, the Social and Cultural Secretary of ENPO (Eastern Nagaland People’s organization).
The President of ENWO, Shamthai Phom, delivered the welcome note. The event was further enriched by a mesmerizing Folk Fusions performance by Tongrila Sangtam. Anoka H Assumi, NCS, ADC Longkhim, Dr. Anungla Imdong, President of ENGOA, and Chingmak Kumchuba, President of ENSF, delivered succinct speeches.
Konyak Nyupuh Shekho Khong (KNSK) delivered a captivating special song, while Reverend Noksen, Women Secretary of CBLT, offered the invocation. Therise, Youth Pastor of Longkhim Town Baptist Church, delivered the benediction. Additionally, cultural presentations showcasing the vibrant traditions of all seven tribal ENWO units enthralled the audience.
