Advisor for Transport and Technical Education, Temjenmenba, inaugurated the Tribal Hostel at Government Polytechnic Sedem in Tuensang Village on 28th November 2023. According to DIPR, the Advisor, in his address, expressed appreciation to P/Khel Tuensang Village for donating the land for the establishment of institutions like the Polytechnic Sedem in Tuensang.
Temjenmenba emphasized the importance of the Polytechnic in becoming an inspiration by producing outstanding students academically and urged the gathering to adopt an open mindset, encouraging students from other districts to join the institution.
Further, the Advisor highlighted the efforts of the Department of Technical Education in improving infrastructure, providing necessary equipment, and ensuring a qualified faculty in all Polytechnic Institutions across Nagaland. He announced plans to initiate skill development programs and introduce online teaching modes by bringing in experienced teaching faculties.
Assuring his commitment, Temjenmenba pledged to address the challenges faced by Polytechnic Sedem before the start of the next academic session and the construction of a Girls Hostel in the next phase.
In a short speech, MLA Imtichuba expressed his joy, stating that the establishment of a Tribal Hostel at Polytechnic Sedem was like a dream come true for the people of Tuensang. He thanked the Ministry of Tribal Affairs for recognizing and addressing the needs of the local community. Imtichuba acknowledged the sacrifices made by the faculty of Polytechnic Sedem despite facing challenges in basic facilities at the institution.
Speeches were also presented by Tuensang Deputy Commissioner Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa and Additional Secretary, Higher and Technical Education Sentiyanger Pongen.
The chairperson of the program was Er. Vipulhou Lhoungu, Director, Technical Education. Invocation was said by Rev. T. Among, Pastor, Tuensang Sang Baptist Lashong (TSBL), welcome address by Er. Among Longkumer, Principal Polytechnic Sedem. The Vote of Thanks was conveyed by Tiakaba Amer, Additional Director, Technical Education.
