Advisor, Social Welfare, Wangpang Konyak graced the distribution of Aids and Appliances for PwDs in Mon District on 8th November 2024 at Mon Town Council Hall. The Advisor expressed his gratitude to the Deputy Commissioner and his team for the initiative in organising the programme in collaboration with ALIMCO of India.
He said that through the distribution of Aids and Appliances, the quality of life of the beneficiaries would be improved. Encouraging the beneficiaries, he said the state government is taking care for inclusive development, where PwDs will not be left behind in anything, and added that lift and ramp in every office building are available for them to reach. He also spoke about the Job reservation of 4% for the PwDs. He further appealed them not to misuse the Aids and Appliances but use them for their benefit.
Deputy Commissioner Mon, Ajit Kumar Verma, IAS while delivering the welcome address, highlighted about the programme, and informed that this is the last phase, after assessment camp which was done couple of months ahead with the ALIMCO Team. He thanked the District Administration, DWO Office, Block Level Officers, PwDs Association, various beneficiaries and Medical Team for successfully conducting the assessment camp. DC also said that the District Administration is committed to identify the beneficiaries and try to provide Aids and appliances, where he urged them to cooperate /support one another, to provide a better lifestyle to PwDs.
Kduplanki Bang (P&O) and Penica Nula (Anal Audiologist) represented the ALIMCO of India. Kduplanki Bang (P&O) gave brief notes on ALIMCO. She also gave a brief address of PMDKs which is located in Civil Hospital Dimapur, and said that anyone who has missed the assessment camp which was conducted earlier, can contact the PMDKs Dimapur for getting the Aids and Appliances where they can get instantly along with proper documents.
Short Speeches were delivered by Konyak Union President, Tingtok Konyak, M. Wanhshok Konyak, President Disability Association, Mon, Disability Specialist, Dr. Ngampa Sangme and DWO Mon, Atong Yanlem. The programme was chaired by Supongmenla Walling, CMO, Mon and Vote of thanks was delivered by Ajit Kumar, IAS, SDO (C) Mon.
