The National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme (NVBDCP) successfully conducted a one-day Advocacy Workshop on Vector Borne Diseases on July 8 at the CMO Conference Hall.
The objective of the workshop was to sensitise and mobilise key stakeholders for effective prevention and control of vector-borne diseases, particularly in view of the monsoon season when cases typically rise.
Key participants included Town Council Members, Dobashis, Ward Presidents, and CSOs.
A technical presentation was delivered by Malaria Consultant, Nyumoi Phom, highlighting the burden of malaria and other vector-borne diseases in Longleng district.

Symptoms, transmission cycle, and diagnostic approaches. Preventive measures include the use of Long-Lasting Insecticidal Nets (LLINs), indoor residual spraying (IRS), and environmental management.
Importance of prompt treatment-seeking behavioural and community surveillance. The interactive session enabled stakeholders to clarify doubts and share field-level challenges, which were addressed by the technical team.
