AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge to address public rally at Kohima on Oct 7

All India Congress Committee (AICC) President Mallikarjun Kharge will be visiting Kohima on October 7 for a public rally at Naga Solidarity Park.

Addressing media persons at Congress Bhavan Kohima, Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) President, S Supongmeren Jamir informed that the rally will start from 11 a.m. at NSF park and will focus on saving democracy, secularism and to save Nagaland. He said that these three themes will be the reference of the rally.

Jamir also highlighted that the public rally is mainly to save democracy and to save secularism and save Nagaland. He added that at the rally subjects like political agenda, youth employment agenda, good governance, road connectivity will be placed.

“All those subjects matter will be put forth and specially in reference to good governance. In reference to Northeastern states, in the public rally we will emphasize on secularism,” Jamir noted.

Supongmeren also mentioned that the AICC president will be accompanied by Congress General Secretary, KC Venugopal, Nagaland in-charge, Saptagiri Sankar Ulaka and also expecting national leaders. Jamir said that they are expecting not less than ten thousand people.

The Member of Parliament also highlighted that the rally would also focus on how Congress party will go ahead in Northeast state especially in reference to Nagaland. He added that the senior members of the Core Committee and the Political Affairs Committee would have a separate meeting with the president and all the DCC presidents also will have a separate meeting in different places before the rally.

After the rally, Jamir said that Congress activities will be delivered in different places.

“Since we are going to hold rally for further safety and welfare of our people, I would like to appeal the citizens of Nagaland and also the minorities to be together in the rally. Discuss and put forth the problems which will be carried forward by national leaders and that also will be one of the subject matters where it will give safeguard to our state,” Jamir added.

Replying to a the significance of the rally for next general elections, Jamir said that the deliberation is one part however whatever the issue is it needs to be converted into the vote bank .

“It mostly depends on the workers. We can transmit and convert into vote bank. This will be beginning of rally of national leaders visiting Nagaland. They are also very serious taking the instance of Manipur. Congress high command is very serious,” Jamir said.

The MP also was hopeful that this rally will be for the betterment of our state Nagaland .

On the recent proposed merger of NDPP and NPF, Jamir said that it is two regional parties in one basket and it would not affect any other party.
