The Freedom Rider Biker Rallies in convergence with the All India Motorbike Expedition 2022 (AIME) reached Nagaland on 8 October. Passing through Dimapur and Kohima, the bikers were flagged off today from Kisama en route to Imphal.
As a part of commemorating Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM), the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports Government of India in collaboration with the All India Motorbike Expedition (AIME) started a three-month-long bike ride all over the country.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah flagged off the expedition on 10 September 2022 from New Delhi.
The pan-India expedition aims to celebrate AKAM under the banner of Fit India Mission through bikers who will cover 75 iconic locations in India with its crew highlighting Indian heritage and culture. The bike expedition will disseminate the message – Fitness For All – under the theme ‘Fitness Ki Dose Aadha Ghanta Roz’.
The expedition has been envisaged to cover approximately 21,000 km, taking approximately three months, and will pass through 34 states/UT and more than 250 districts.
On Saturday, the freedom bikers reached Dimapur first where they were welcomed by the Dimapur District Administration, the district sports officials and volunteers at Nagaland Gate Dimapur. A brief interaction was had before the bikers set off for Kohima.

A total of 75 bikers including 11 women bikers and 20 crew members are part of the expedition. The oldest rider is 66 years of age.
In the late evening, the bikers and their crew were received at SKV Petrol Pump, Kohima by the Kohima team led by Youth Resources & Sports Secretary Wezope Kenye and officials from YRS, NYKS, and district administration.

Today. the Freedom Moto Ride was flagged off from the 2nd World War Museum at the Naga Heritage Village Kisama by Er Zale Neikha Advisor for Youth Resources and Sports.
During the flag-off program, Er Zale spoke briefly about the significance and history of the rally. He also lauded the courageous efforts of the 75 riders for undertaking the 75-day journey to celebrate Aazadi ka Amrit Mahotsav and spread awareness about fitness.
A special cultural item was performed by Jakhama Youth Organisation in honour of the Freedom Moto Ride. Youth Resources and Sports (YRS) Secretary, Wezope Kenye IAS, Additional Secretary YR&S, Anthony Ngullie, Director YR&S Akumla Chuba, Additional Director YRS Megolha Dolie, and others graced the event.
The riders departed to explore the iconic places of Manipur where District Administration and Police personnel accompanied the bikers till the Khuzama check gate.
