Akashvani Kohima today conducted a Refresher Course for Dialect News Presenters at the Conference Hall, Red Cross Complex Kohima.
A press release from Rachel Shimray, Programme Executive (Coordination) Akashvani Kohima informed that Refresher Course was organised by Programme Section in order to equip the Presenters more about programming and also help them meet the challenges ahead, particularly with the merger of the programme contents and origination of a single channel which will come into effect from 1 July 2023.
During the course, officers from Akashvani Kohima who were the resource persons emphasised the essentials of communication, citing that there are many listeners from rural areas who are listening to the news and programmes.

The resource persons also highlighted the importance of news, and the style of presentations of the programmes and stressed the need for the presenters to give efforts in promoting the radio programmes.
The participants were also encouraged to pursue the production of programmes. The topics covered were the importance of programmes in Akashvani Kohima, Do’s & Don’ts in Broadcasting, official procedures & etiquettes, the importance of news in Akashvani, live presentation of news, commercial and social media and my experience as a dialect programme presented at other station.
The participants also held an interaction session with the resource persons.
