The Core Committee of the All Nagaland Adhoc Teachers’ Group (ANATG), 2015 batch, Kohima has announced that its ongoing protest demanding regularization of services has been temporarily put on hold with effect from February 21, 2026, following written assurances from the Department of School Education, Nagaland.

In a letter addressed to the Principal Director, Department of School Education, dated February 23, 2026, the ANATG stated that the decision was taken after a series of general meetings held on February 20 and 21 at the Directorate of School Education premises amid the agitation, which had commenced on February 4.

The group acknowledged the Department’s written assurance to explore alternative solutions to resolve the impasse arising from incomplete documentation related to ANATG members. The Department also informed the group that a special officer or team would be deputed exclusively to examine ANATG cases and facilitate submission of additional documents, as conveyed through official communication dated February 19.

After prolonged deliberations and expressing “good faith” in the authority of the Department, the ANATG Core Committee resolved to temporarily suspend the protest subject to specific conditions.

These include deputation of 10 ANATG members to assist the Department in documentation and sorting of records pertaining to the group, as communicated earlier by the Under Secretary to the Government of Nagaland through letter dated February 13, 2026.

The group further reiterated that, as assured by the Department in its February 12 communication, the legitimate demands of ANATG 2015 batch are under active consideration and that government action has already been initiated. The ANATG stressed that prioritization of its members must be ensured “both in letter and in spirit.”

Crucially, the Core Committee stated that all alternative arrangements, procedures and processes for regularization of ANATG 2015 members must be completed by June 30, 2026.

The ANATG cautioned that failure to resolve the long-pending regularization issue within the stipulated timeframe would compel the group to resume its democratic protest “in a more intensified manner.”

The ANATG 2015 batch had been staging a sustained protest in Kohima since early February, pressing the State Government for regularization of services and resolution of documentation hurdles affecting its members.
