The 61st General Session of the Anatongre Village Students Union commenced on 4th January 2025 at the Village Ground, Anatongre,  under the Theme “Unleashing Potential”. Kiusumong Tikhir, OSD to Chief Minister, Nagaland graced the event as the Chief Guest.

In his address, Tikhir emphasised on Unity, Education, health and Sanitation and Economic growth. He stressed that there cannot be any development and progress in a society without unity and therefore encouraged all the young and old to be kind and honor one another in any aspects of life. Be it neighbors or foreigners, one should never forget to have humanity inside his heart and character, he stated.

Tikhir remarked that education is the cornerstone to uplift any society and people as it polishes the mind and make people come out of narrow mindedness.  He also said that education is the seed towards a brighter tomorrow, where education flourish society progress forward and upward.

Additionally, the Chief Guest maintained that health and sanitation should be critically observed in any community and encouraged the community to practice cleanliness and sanitation.

Tikhir also stated that every citizen should strive towards pushing his society and country forward, in speech and conduct.

Concluding his speech, Tikhir remarked, “let us all unleash our innermost potential not just for ourselves but for our village, not just for our village but for our state not just for our state but for our country and world at large”.

The 61st Anatongre Students union session is scheduled from 4th January till 7th January 2025.

The inaugural programme featured various presentations and performances with vibrant march pass from Anatongre students, which was also followed by folk dance performed by Anatongre village male groups and female groups.
