ANCSU urges Higher Edu. Minister to pursue 2nd phase PMS disbursement

The All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) has appealed to the Minister for Higher Education Temjen Imna Along to intervene for the disbursement of second phase Post Matric Scholarship (PMS) ST for the academic year 2024-2025.

While acknowledging the department for engaging with the concerned Ministry and prioritizing the disbursement of the first phase PMS ST to 22,000 students in June 2025, ANCSU stated that the remaining students are earnestly anticipating the funds to meet their academic needs.

“The majority of students in the state belong to the economically weaker section that honestly rely on these funds to pay their tuition fees hostel fees and other essential academic expenses.

Therefore, we sincerely appeal to your competent authority to give serious consideration to this pressing matter and immediately Intercede with the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India for the early sanction and disbursement of 2nd phase Post Matric Scholarship ST for the year 2024-2025,” the union stated in a letter to the minister.

Urging the minister to take necessary steps to address this issue promptly, ANCSU said delay in disbursement of scholarship to the students will only invite retaliation from the students’ community.
