The Angami Students’ Union (ASU) has written to the Executive Engineer, Department of Power, Kohima Division, demanding for uninterrupted electricity supply throughout the district of Kohima, particularly during the exam period.
ASU has also served the Department an ultimatum of 48 hours to redress the “erratic power supply” ahead of the most crucial HSLC and HSSLC examinations.
“It is utterly alarming to witness that the Department of Power has now possibly become the often irritation of the students’ community, whereby during the most crucial exams, i.e. HSLC & HSSLC, the students are greeted with erratic power supply,” President Khriesamhalie David Mere and General Secretary Vimeyiekho Vitso.
The Nagaland Board of School Education had earlier announced that the High School Leaving Certificate Higher Secondary Leaving Certificate Examinations 2024 will be conducted from 12th February to 6th March 2024 while the Class XI examination will be held from 12th February and end on 6th March 2024.
