The Angh of Sangsa village and father of Minister P Paiwang Konyak, Langto Konyak passed away today.
Condoling his demise, Nagaland Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio said that Langto was an efficient and compassionate leader, respected for his able leadership and generosity.
Rio further said Langto was a man of deep knowledge, was well-versed in the history of the Nagas, particularly of the Konyak people. He said with his passing, the Konyak community has lost one of its guardians and his absence would be profoundly felt.
On behalf of the Government of Nagaland, Rio conveyed deepest condolences to the bereaved family and prayed that Almighty God grant them strength, courage and comfort to bear this irreparable loss.
Advisor, Information & Public Relations, Soil & Water Conservation, Imkong L. Imchen has expressed deep grief at the passing away of late Langto Angh, father of Minister, Health & Family Welfare, P Paiwang Konyak, on September 25 at Zion Hospital, Dimapur.

In his condolence message, Imchen stated that Late Langto Angh was a respected custodian of the rich traditions and heritage of the Wancho people. His leadership was marked by traditional authority and his concern for education, progress and social transformation.
He further said that Late Langto Angh was a man of deep Christian faith, who dedicated his life to the service of God and his community, leaving behind a legacy of leadership, integrity and devotion.
Conveying heartfelt condolences to P Paiwang Konyak and all members of the bereaved family, Imchen prayed that the Almighty grant them comfort and strength in this hour of sorrow.
National People’s Party:
The State Unit of the National People’s Party (NPP) Nagaland has expressed grief at the passing away of Late Langto Konyak, the Angh of Shangsa Village and he father of P Paiwang Konyak, Minister Health & Family Welfare, Government of Nagaland.
The NPP stated that Late Langto Konyak was a highly respected leader and elder who lived a life of dignity, integrity, and principle. His passing away is not only a personal loss to the bereaved family but also a great loss to the Konyak community and to the Naga society at large, it stated.
On behalf of the NPP Nagaland, the State President A Nyamnyei Konyak conveyed heartfelt condolences to P Paiwang Konyak and the entire family during this difficult time of grief.
The NPP Nagaland joined in honoring the memory of Late Lanto Konyak and prayed for his soul to rest in eternal peace.
