The Anglers Association Nagaland (AAN) formally installed its new office bearers for the 2025–2028 tenure during a function held at Hotel Saramati, Dimapur on June 6. Mhonbemo Ngullie will lead the new team as president, while Hokivi Chishi will be the vice president and Akai Awomi is the new general secretary.
As part of the programme, the association also inaugurated its new office located at the Government Brooder Farm, Nagarjan, within the premises of the department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources.
Rongsennungba Ao, director Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, delivered a short speech during the office inauguration. He emphasized the importance of conserving endemic and ornamental fish species and spoke about the potential of river angling to attract foreign anglers. He also urged the association to raise awareness among local villagers on river conservation.

Outgoing president Watinuksung Jamir welcomed the members and attendees, highlighting the AAN motto, “Where Passion Meets Conservation.” He encouraged sustainable fishing practices and called for efforts to promote river angling as a means of attracting international interest.
Earlier on June 5, a tree plantation drive was conducted at the Government Brooder Farm, Nagarjan, to mark World Environment Day.
