Annual Conference of Government College Principals held

The annual conference of the Government Colleges Principals under the Higher Education Department was held on October 19 at the Directorate of Higher Education, Kohima.

Temjen Imna Along, Minister of Higher education & Tourism graced the Conference as the Guest of Honour. In his speech, Along called upon the Principals of the government colleges to envision and curate the future of Nagaland, to be inclusive in the channel of development and empowerment.

“The State and its people can only proper if the right human resources are developed,” said Along challenging the principals and teachers to build the community to not only be literate but to be educated.

Along maintained that among the many professions and great personalities, teachers are the greatest influencers and they have the power to mould, curate and envision in making a good society, a good family, a good state and a prosperous nation.

“There are some things which require money to get it done, and there are some things which can be done through other forms,” viewed the Minister urging the principals to connect and work together with the community.

The Minister handed over certificates of appreciation to five mentor college- Kohima Science College Jotsoma, Kohima College, Fazl Ali College Mokokchung, Dimapur Govt College and Patkai Christian College for successfully mentoring the concerned colleges for NAAC Assessment & Accreditation in the state.

Earlier, the inaugural session was chaired by Dr. A. Nshoga, Director, Higher Education while Dr. K. Nishena Nekha, Additional Director delivered the welcome address.

The Vote of thanks was proposed by Menuokholie Kire, joint director (Administration), Higher Education.The session was followed by business hour.
