Considering the impact of disruption in teaching learning process, the All Nagaland School Teachers’ Association (ANSTA) has requested the Joint Coordination Committee (JCC), on the IAS induction row, to exempt the teachers and educational institutions from the ongoing pen-down strike and future agitations.
The Association, however, expressed its full support to the JCC in its demand to restore meritocracy in the system.
In a representation addressed to the JCC, the ANSTA conveyed its sincere respect and solidarity with the collective movement undertaken by the Joint Coordination Committee (JCC) in pursuit of the common cause of justice and the rights of government employees in the State.
The Association sought exemption in view of various reasons. With the scheduled examinations and academic session arriving at a crucial juncture, the association expressed that any prolonged disruption in the conduct of classes or assessments will adversely affect the academic progress of students.

It also cited the students’ future and career as a key consideration. “Continued interruption of the teaching-learning process directly impacts students’ preparation, performance, and future opportunities. As education forms the foundation of their careers, it is our moral and professional duty to safeguard their interests,” the ANSTA conveyed.
Further, educational institutions, being service-oriented entities dealing with the growth and welfare of children and youth, the ANSTA asserted that these institutions require continuity and stability in functioning to maintain discipline and quality education.
“While ANSTA remains in full support of the legitimate demands and unified voice of all government employees under JCC, we respectfully appeal that the teaching community and educational institutions be granted exemption from the purview of the strike and other forms of agitation,” it expressed.
